McCoy Academy promotes proficiency
for all students by nurturing critical thinkers with a passion
for learning, guiding students to be caring and culturally aware,
and developing confident individuals who will become well
rounded, proactive members of society.
We strive to attain this vision by
providing a rigorous, standards based curriculum along with
character strengths education embedded into all aspects of
learning. Teachers in grades 2-5 loop with students for two years
allowing time to develop of a culture of high expectations and
supportive teacher-student-family relationships.
Rather than following a generic basal program, teachers
collaboratively develop units of study using the state standards
for ELA, Math, Science, and Social Science along with rich,
authentic texts. This process allows our professional
educators the flexibility to adjust the curriculum at any time to
meet the unique needs of the students in their class.
Staff, students, and supporters are in the driver’s seat at
Bowling Green Charter Elementary School. As the principal,
it is my job to support and coordinate the efforts of all our
stakeholders to ensure that we are providing our students the
best possible education so they can have the most opportunities
available to them as they grow and develop. Please feel
